Over the years, Nursery Schools have changed and developed so much that a minor revolution has occurred. There were a handful of nurseries, and today there are over 7,212 Nursery schools in the 135 Districts of Uganda. 

Today a typical nursery school in Uganda has seven classes; students are enrolled from Playgroup (two years old) to Pre-Primary (six years old) levels.

Qualifications Of Nursery Teachers

PRIMARY TEACHERS

A degree in humanities will also help while having teaching experience in at least one school, at least one year experience, and you must be fluent in the written and spoken word (English). Uganda Nursery Teaching Education System

To qualify as a nursery teacher in Uganda, you must have passed at least three years of nursery training. This is in a government accredited college or university. The national curriculum is standard.

Most high school teachers also train in childhood teaching. Therefore, they can actually teach kindergartens schools. All the teachers have to pass practical teaching lessons supervised by independent and senior teachers.
